 Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. This essential “time element” has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load (gentle pressure) applied slowly will allow a viscoelastic medium (fascia) to elongate. Trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions that can produce tensile pressures of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch on pain sensitive structures that do not show up in many of the standard tests (x-rays, myelograms, CAT scans, MRI's etc.) The use of Myofascial Release allows us to look at each client as a unique individual. The one hour sessions are hands-on treatments which we use  myofascial release, rebounding and myofascial unwinding.  Each Myofascial Release Treatment session is performed directly on skin without oils and lotions. This enables us to accurately detect fascial restrictions and apply the appropriate amount of sustained pressure to facilitate release of the fascia. Source: John F. What is Fascia?

Fascia is a specialized system of the body that has an appearance similar to a spider's web or a sweater. Fascia is very densely woven, covering and interpenetrating every muscle, bone, nerve, artery and vein, as well as, all of our internal organs including the heart, lungs, brain and spinal cord. It's spider-web extends without interruption from head to toes. Any kind of injury or inflammation on one part of the body can cause tension and pain in far away structures, hence, total body release approach using Myofascial Release (MFR) not only remediates the Symptoms but also addresses the cause. As a trained John Barnes therapist I release the fascial restrictions with patience and ease. This allows the pain to be released in a way that will give you long lasting pain relief, as well as improve energy and body functioning.

Who Can Benefit from
Myofascial Release?

Everyone can benefit from Myofascial Release. It is especially helpful for: Fibromyalgia Myofascial Pain Syndromes Acute/Chronic Neck or Back Pain Scoliosis / Spinal Deformities Headaches / Migraines Carpal Tunnel Syndromes Nerve Entrapment Syndromes Neuropathic Pain Arthritis and Joint Pain Plantar Fascitis / Foot Pain Adhesions / Decreased Movement Pelvic Pain

Women's Health

Florence Myofascial Release and Physical therapy helps you solve the issues that every generation before us labeled as “normal” Things like: Pee leakage Pelvic organ prolapse Pain during sex Low/no orgasm Painful labor and birth Fertility issues Diastasis recti (ab muscle separation) Low Energy Urinary urgency and frequency Vulvodynia Interstitial Cystitis Mastectomy Pain Menstrual Problems Urinary Frequency Coccydynia Endometriosis Episiotomy Scars Pelvic Floor Pain Problematic Breast Implant/Reduction Scars Pudendal Nerve Entrapment

Kids and Infants

When babies or older kids have pain, illness or any noticeable dysfunction, fascial restriction may be a contributing factor. Effective myofascial release sessions have been reported for children with the following issues: Orthopedic problems Scoliosis or other postural anomalies Birthing injuries Head trauma Cerebral palsy Neurological conditions Movement disorders Chronic respiratory disease Chronic ear infections Latching issues in infants Tongue-tie Torticollis.
