FAQS
We are located at 1210 S Cashua Dr, Suite 8/9, Florence, SC at Cashua Plaza, next door to the nail salon. We share the building with Fyzical Therapy and Balance Center.
Your first visit begins with a conversation. We want to understand how your symptoms are affecting your life, your relevant medical history, and the goals you want to work toward together.
From there, we move into a full evaluation gentle, thorough, and always with open dialogue so you understand what we're finding and why. Because pain in one area is often caused by a restriction somewhere else entirely, we perform a full postural analysis as part of every evaluation.
If you're being seen for pelvic floor physical therapy, an internal evaluation and treatment may be offered (always with your comfort and consent). We typically evaluate you both standing and lying down, and in most cases we will begin treatment during that very first session.
Treatment is performed directly on skin, without barriers, so comfortable, loose clothing that allows access to different areas of the body works best. Most patients wear underwear and a sports bra, a two-piece swimsuit, or loose shorts and a tank top. Please avoid applying creams, lotions, or oils before your appointment, and remove jewelry and watches.
By the end of your first visit, you will have a clear understanding of why you are experiencing pain or discomfort, what is actually driving it, and a personalized plan of care focused on your specific goals. Most patients leave their first appointment with treatment already underway and a game plan in place.
At most physical therapy clinics, sessions are 30–45 minutes, you may work with a technician or aide for part of your visit, and your treatment plan is shaped by what your insurance will authorize.
At Florence Integrative Therapy, every session is one-on-one with Sandra no aides, no split attention, no insurance-driven limits on what we can do. Sessions are longer and fully integrated, drawing on advanced myofascial release, our full range of clinical technology, and a whole-body approach that looks beyond the site of pain to find what is actually causing it.
For patients with complex, chronic, or multilayered conditions, this difference is significant.
This is one of the most common things we hear and it's exactly the kind of patient we built this practice for.
Standard physical therapy is effective for many straightforward injuries. But for chronic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, TMJ, and complex cases, it frequently falls short not because the therapist wasn't skilled, but because the system limits the time, tools, and approach available.
Our work goes deeper. We look for the root cause of your symptoms, not just where they appear. We use advanced myofascial release techniques alongside a suite of clinical technologies that most practices don't have. And we give your case the time and attention it actually requires.
If you've been told there's nothing more that can be done, we'd like to offer you a second opinion.
Myofascial release works with the fascial system the connective tissue network that runs throughout your entire body. Restrictions in this tissue can cause pain, dysfunction, and symptoms far from where the restriction actually is, which is why standard treatments that focus only on the painful area often provide only temporary relief.
Sandra is an expert-level John Barnes Myofascial Release therapist a designation held by a very small number of practitioners. This is not a technique added onto conventional PT. It is the foundation of how we approach every patient.

Treatment duration varies by patient and condition, and we won't give you a number that isn't honest. Some patients see resolution in 2–3 sessions. Others with chronic or complex conditions have needed 10–20.
We work in three general phases:
• Phase 1: Releasing and lengthening restricted tissue
• Phase 2: Strengthening and restoring optimal function
• Phase 3: Return to full activity, free of pain and discomfort
Each phase typically takes 3–4 sessions, though this varies. We reassess continuously and adjust your plan as you progress.
Most patients come once a week in the early phases, gradually reducing frequency as symptoms resolve. Patients with acute or severe symptoms may benefit from coming 2–3 times per week. For those working toward a specific deadline a trip, an event, a surgery more intensive schedules (including multiple sessions per day) are available.
We accept BlueCross BlueShield and Medicare for physical therapy services. Insurance-covered sessions are structured around what your plan authorizes typically shorter visits focused on a defined set of approved interventions.
Our cash-pay sessions are longer, fully integrated, and allow us to use our complete range of treatments and technology without restriction. Many patients find the difference meaningful, particularly those with complex or chronic conditions.
For patients using other insurance plans, we are out-of-network. We provide a detailed superbill and access to Thrizer, an app that submit claims to your insurance in under a minute. Depending on your plan and whether you've met your deductible, out-of-network reimbursement typically ranges from 50–90%. We recommend checking your out-of-network benefits before your first visit.
HSA and FSA cards, credit cards, cash, and check are all accepted.
Yes. Sandra has extensive experience with pediatric and infant care, including infant craniosacral therapy, pediatric myofascial release, and treatment for children with special needs. If you have questions about whether your child is a good candidate, please don't hesitate to reach out.
South Carolina does not require a physician's referral to begin physical therapy with us. However, if you plan to submit to insurance for reimbursement, your insurance company will require a prescription from your physician that includes the appropriate ICD-10 diagnosis codes.
We ask for a minimum of 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations (under 48 hours) are charged 50% of the session fee. Cancelations within less than 24hs and No-shows are charged 100%.
We hold these boundaries because our schedule is limited, patients on our waitlist are hoping for earlier appointments, and consistent attendance is directly tied to your results. We appreciate your understanding.
